A Note About Bag Thicknesses and FDA Approved Materials

Please keep in mind that our bag thicknesses are nominal thicknesses which means they can be up to 20% thinner than the stated thickness so 2 mil bag may actually be 1.8 mil.

All clear low density poly bags meet the size and thickness requirements of Federal Specification A-A-3174 (which superseded LP378E). The thickness requirements as stated in the Federal Specifications are + or - 20%.

Our polyethylene classification is:
  • A-A-3174
  • Type 1 - Normal Impact Strength Polyethylene
  • Class 1 - For non-food application
  • Class 2 - For food application
  • Grade B - Medium Slip
  • Finish 1 – Untreated

Our Low Density Polyethylene is virgin material produced out of 2 melt, 920 density, medium slip and medium anti-block

Our Linear Low Density Polyethylene is virgin material produced out of 1 melt, 920 density, medium slip and medium anti-block
